Agriculture and 4-H themed events are an integral part of annual provincial exhibition and community fair programs. The Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture is pleased to work closely with the EANS to provide events that promote agriculture to the general public and develop the livestock, life skills and leadership qualities of 4-H members. Agricultural themed events gave the general public the experience of interacting wth producers first hand, taught children the importance of where their food comes from, and encouraged consumers to buy local and in season.
The success of many large and small 4-H county days, livestock shows, life skills displays, workshops and fundraising events rely on being able to use the exhibition facilities. Approximately 850 4-H members across the province contributed to exhibition and fair agendas wth life skills competitions, livestock classes, tug-of-war, 4-H demonstrations and displays ensuring there is something on the daily agenda that appeals to everyone.
